Photographic photocopy transfer, balsa wood and thread
This work is my attempt to express the universal symbolism of the disunity between outer appearance and inner. Aiming to reveal
the duplicity of humanity and the invisible truth that is hidden under our ‘masks’. Wood
is a strong material, which is difficult to break, though in contrast the stitching used in my work is flexible and can be broken effortlessly, perhaps
suggesting the ‘true self’ beneath may be easily revealed.
